Stacked Jack inputs board

So after more playing with eagle, this is what I have come up with. It is a two layer board designed around the Neutrik stacked switched stereo jacks.

My question is whether or not I should connect the switched side of the jacks to ground to take advantage of having switched jacks. I don't actually have the stacked jacks so I haven't confirmed if the foot prints are exact but they should be as I built the stacked jacks straight off the data sheet.

Is it possible to do a single layer board for stacked jacks? Forgive my ignorance, I don't know the first thing about how to design one of these things. Is it just too tight?

looking at his board I would say it is highly unlikely. Maybe with the well thought out use of some bridges/jumper wires.

Do you mean double-sided PCB's? Yes, it's possible, but you need some experience to succeed in a venture like that.

I have made several double sided boards, but like firelord has already said, it does take some experience. The hardest part of the whole operation is getting the holes to line up top and bottom. Especially in this case where you have the IDE plug with so many pins so close together.
