got my PC - updated = WORKS! :)..midi question though...

Postby ole_hansen » Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:47 pm

i did it.

bought a pc for the sole purpose of updating firmware via midi-ox, and to control the MD via MCT.

works :)

but how is the MIDI-in/out cable wired to the MD ?

it doesn't work for me.

i get loud static bursts or noise when the midi cable (which is checked & working btw :) ) is connected to my DAW (Digi 002).

and the MegaDrum's LCD also flashed on/off when a note is hit....?!
this is how i did it (via Synthex's Quick Manual)

MIDI IN OUT Connector :

1 - MIDI OUT + (DIN pin 4)
2 - MIDI OUT - (DIN pin 5)
3 - MIDI OUT GND (DIN pin 2)
4 - MIDI IN + (DIN pin 4)
5 - MIDI IN - (DIN pin 5)

so pins 1 and 3 on the female midi output are not used.
correct, no?

Yes.
And pin 2 on MIDI IN is not used too.

To be sure, you connect :
Megadrum MIDI OUT -> Digi002 MIDI IN
Digi002 MIDI OUT -> Megadrum MIDI IN
