Anyone tried the 3-zone raper circuit?

Postby jman 31 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 1:58 pm

I am using the 3-zone raper circuit with piezos on all three zones. I can get two zones to trigger, but never a third sound. Has anyone tried this yet and if so, what were your settings?

I guess it would probably be easier to get rid of the raper circuit and just wire the piezos to the jack?

Are you using the 10k resistor for the bell piezo?

It's done exactly like Keith's three zone schematic that is floating around. I will try to find it when I get a chance.

Do you mean the Yamaha style 3 zone circuit (1 jack on MegaDrum)

Here is some other comments about it

I'm interested to use this myself.

Exactly. That is the circuit I built. I can get two zones, but never three. I read through that conversation before to no avail. It talks about it, but doesn't discuss how or if you can use it. I may just build the Yamaha version of a three zone and be done with it. I would like to get the KRC working though, just so folks have another option.

Does this mean, i need this circuit to get my yamaha pcy-155 (3-zone-ride) working on Megadrum?

No. All Yamaha cymbals work with MegaDrum out of the box.

I think that circuit for three zones is for splitting the 3 zones into 3 separate mono inputs. Maybe you should try this other one

but connect another circuit similar to the aux piezo side but put the 10k resistor just before connecting it to sleeve. Just my two cents.
