2 bass drum pads

Postby gui_999 » Fri Sep 25, 2009 1:17 pm

I was wandering if you can plug 2 drum pads in the megadrum?

Can you plug both pads on the same input with an 'Y' splitter, or you have to use 2 inputs? (or maybe both options works..)

I searched on a lot of forums there's not much info on that.. people just tend to use double bass pedals on one pad..

Thanks!

If it's a stereo input you can use a splitter on it. A bass pad is typically mono, so the two pads would make a stereo input.

All inputs except the kick are dual zone so a tip/ring stereo splitter like the hosa ypp-117 would work great on these inputs so that you get 2 sounds from these inputs. In the case of the kick input you could use a hosa ypp-111 but you will only be able to trigger the same midi note from each kick pad which isn't as nice when your using a vst like toontrack metal foundry that has a left and right kick articulation and requires a seperate midi note to trigger each one.
56 input Megadrum644, Tama Iron Cobra, Taye, Sonor, Roland, Yamaha, Gibraltar, Tascam.
