Foam for mesh head triggers?

Postby chvojka » Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:29 pm

I have read that the foam cone works best for Roland modules. Is there a foam type or shape or position that works best for megadrum when using with mesh heads?

Hey chvojka,

Was your question not answered satisfactorily over at the vdrums forums?

In fact there is no right or wrong, but there are choices that are better than others depending on the situation. I used trial and error to find foam locally that works well for me. I was in no rush and figured I could find something cheap and close. Personally I use foam blocks that protect new GMC trucks in transit to the dealers. I work for a GM dealer and have access to all kinds of it for free, and it works very well in my experience. If you want the most proven product, use the 'very soft' poron foam from McMaster-Carr. It is widely considered to be the best DIY foam product available.
