PITCH BEND with MEGADRUM

Hello everybody!
I would like to make a foot cotroller as a pitch bend for MD. I want to use one input A/D in ATMEGA. When I press the controller then changes of voltage on potentiometer will be convert to pitch bend message of specification MIDI.
Is it possible not to modify the source code?
Could you write suggestion please?

Most host software should be able to cope with this mapping.
Some NI stuff lets you 'Use channel as modulator' ?
...and pitch bend gives you a kettle drum !

Here are similar modulation articulations on more familiar ground:-
Try <the last example here> (not so effective on his milatary style drum).
Try pumping air into your kit <like this>.
Then there is your <Africa Talking Drums>.
And let us not forget bar 98 (about 2 min's into) <this> - beautiful, no mullet hair just the big bollocks...

All the brains I know of just dump the resonant frequencies but maybe they could be useful after all
