Given the new scenario of encrypted bootloaders, I'd say there's not really any point in having the old one installed because you won't be able to update future firmware versions with it anyway, so if programming the firmware directly with the ISP cable works fine for you, just stick with that.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

got a few questions regarding that...so i guess its finalized that encrypted bootloaders will be used in the future. how can i buy the encrypted bootloader? Has this change already been implemented i.e. old bootloaders are useless?
Do we follow the same steps (in the documentation) for programming the firmware or it would be a bit different?
i programmed the firmware so i dont have to worry keeping the LEFT key pressed during startup and change the clock since i use the firmware corresponding to the crystal and number of inputs i use?
After programming the firmware, if i connect the peizos, i should be getting something on the VU meter?

sorry ...for bombarding with all the questions at once....have to go to university soon

thanks

It's all in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1251

Unrelated to the bootloader topic. Should be asked in a different topic.
