I'm having some trouble with my hi hat pedal. After reading the faq and trying a bunch of things it still doesn't work like it should.
I use a MegaDrum 2.8 kit, 20100515 firmware.
A 20k ohm sliding resistor is used in my pedal.
After setting the low and hi lever via MCT I get the pedal to fully open and close. The green bar goes from 1 to 127 and I can even make a chick (also in SP2.0).
However, at some points the value in the green bar is stable and at some points it is not. Example, when I keep the value precisely on 61 the bar is stable and MD doesn't send midi. When the value is at 40 the value keeps jumping up and down by 1 to 3 (it goes from 40 to 43) and MD keeps sending midi all the time. The midi LED stays lit.
If the pedal is not fully open or fully closed the midi LED on my MD lights up. It doesn't blink it just stays lit.
I have checked this via MIDI-OX. When I start the program I get a clear ''monitor output'' screen (pedal is fully open). As soon as I move the pedal a millimeter I get midi notes all over the place. I do seem some changes when I press/depress the pedal but I can't really see it, the notes go that fast! Even when I unplug the pedal MD keeps sending mini notes.
The notes seem to come in a group of 3 notes.
In Superior Drummer 2.0 the trouble starts to get real bad. The hi hat goes: closed > open > closed. I have to press the pedal just a bit to keep it open. When I fully depress (release) the pedal the hi hat is closed. It should be open, right?
I have also tried this sliding resistor with out ground connected.

I've added a few pictures to make it more clear, I hope.
settings.jpg shows the setting in MCT/MD.
resistor.jpg shows how I connected the resistor.
withPedal.jpg shows the output of midi ox with the pedal.
noPedal.jpg shows the output of midi ox with the pedal disconnected.
