I'm using the TD-8 module, works well with positional sensing on the snare. However the cymbals are not working well at all. Smartrigger cymbals. Striking the middle of the cymbal works good but striking the rim is really bad. The TD-8 has low sensitivity on the rim sound of the cymbals so only the hardest hit's will register.
Will getting the Megadrum solve this? Can you set separate rim sensitivity?
Also do I have to re-build my drums with those voltage dividers?
One of the reasons that I've decided to go the Megadrum route is because of the lack of ability to adjust rim sensitivity separate of the head sensitivity on my TD-10...I believe this is the same case with the TD-8. You'll note that if you change sensitivity on a head, it's respective rim will change as well. That's because the TD-8 and -10 were originally designed for use with their piezo/switch pads like the PD-9.
