I sent Dmitri my Chip, he encrypted the Bootloader and I just installed the megadrum644_56_20110417.bin at 20Mhz - I hope that's right. I checket the crystal next to the MC and it is labeled 20.000 (x1) while 16.000 (x2) is far away from that on the board. And my Atmega is labeled: Atmega644 20PU 0808.

For using the QuickAccess (which is "pull down hihatpedal and select a pad", right??) I need to connect a HiHat controller. Since I'm using a VH-12 on my TD-12 which is not supported by MegaDrum I'm wondering if I just could solder a button to the HiHat-pedal input and use this knob for quickaccess. Will it work?

Edit: Is there any indication if I press this button?
I just soldered a switch to shaft and tip (but not to ring) but I couldn't get QuickAccess work?!

Answered in another thread where you posted the same question.

Edit2: Since I did the update I couldn't find any settings for midi-speed. Is it detecting automatically right now? Or is there any default-speed which will word in every device-combination?

Hey guys,

since I updated my MegaDrum with the encrypted bootloader, I couldn't get it work properly.
First I alwas got an Midi-communication-error from my TD-12.
Today I tried to connect the MegaDrum thru the TD-12 with my MIDI-port which was connected to my computer.

Usually, even when TD-12 didn't get the MegaDrum's MIDI-signals, my computer got them thru the Midi-port. But nothing happened.

Parhaps I used a wrong firmware?
Now I've installed: 20110417 20Mhz.
Midi-Chain-ID is Midi-Channel?

Edit: Now as I'm oing to update my MegaDrum again, I'm still wondering, if 20Mhz is the right firmware for my Syntex-Kit.
Since X1 is labelet "20.000" and X2 is labeled "FGQ12.000". Chip is still "Atmega644 20PU 0808".

4. In MegaDrum select correct frequency for your Atmega crystal by pressing the key UP. Each time you press UP it will cycle one step through 16MHz-20MHz-24MHz-12MHz. If you use a 16MHz crystal for Atmega, you don't need to press UP since 16MHz is a default start up frequency for the bootloader.
5. In MegaDrum press the key DOWN. It will display 'StartUpdateOnPC'.
6. From a command line run the utility, e.g.:

When I choose 20Mhz and press the DOWN-key it won't show "StartUpdateOnPC".
It shows white blocks.
But update now still works...

Edit: Since I did the update to 644_20110621, I get a MIDI-signal for my computer on Soft-Thru with TD-12.

MegaDrum (Midi-out) -> (Midi-in) TD-12 (Midi-Out) -> (Midi-in) Midi-Port (USB) -> Computer
TD-12 is set to Soft-Thru = it doesn't process the MIDI signal from other devices.
Now I know that MIDI works fine again and I can go on with setting it up for my TD-12.

Puh, I finally got it. It communicates with my TD-12 and now I can go on editing the midi-notes ;)
