I bought them cheap from mouser.com. If you build a voltage divider, you will need a resistor. Potentiometers are just variable resistors, so yes, it will work! If you're happy with the bounce of your pads, go for the potentiometers.

Today i am starting to build the rack from pvc pipes :-).

I have to wait until next week. Need about 18 t-shaped-pipe-pieces. The hardware store only had 6(!) xD.
