I'm pretty sure you can.
1. First check pedals polarity. If it is a Yamaha pedal than I suspect it uses power on the tip and signal on the ring so if you're using a module built by me than you need a cross over cable.
2. If it is a high impedance pedal, make sure you set the HiHat impedance switch accordingly and set AltIn to Yes.
3. Read http://www.megadrum.info/content/hihat-pedal-settings
4. Read viewtopic.php?f=3&t=972, it may be relevant.

After you've tried to set the pedal up and it still doesn't work, come back here and describe how you tried to set it up and configure and I will try to help.

Hey cooper61uk if you figure out the configuration couldf you post your findings? I am almost finished building my megadrum and am about to start buying cymbals and a hi hat controller. I'm debating on the hh65 or fd-7 or 8. Thanks
