note skipped when 2 pads are hit together

Postby dingo » Sat Nov 10, 2012 8:37 pm

hello!
I am trying make settings on megadrum kit.
on acustic drum with mesh heads with cone triggers
superior drummer 2.0
ableton live 8

have some problems:
1)when I hit two pads at the same time like kick pad and floor tom,
or kickpad and snare in eighths.
it happens that some shots are skipped not triggered,
kick is always triggered , some hits from floor tom or snare are not triggered,
as if there were no polyphony,
no matter how hard I hit the pads.
this happens almost exclusively with
the snare , floortom and ride
if I do not hit the kickpad
all the hit on the snare and floortom an ride
are triggered well

all pads are in the same xtalkgroup value 4-5

if I use different xtalkgroup for each group of pad:
floor tom , tom1 tom2,snare , hithat and so on...
have a lot of crosstalk
floor tom is alone as well the snare on his stand
tom1 tom2 are together
any idea??
dingo.

Did you change the default crosstalk suppression setting (XTalk) for pads in the same XTalkGroup?

hello!
have used the default xtalk and group xtalk first
then have changed , and moved all the pads that are not together on the same stands
on different x talk group like the manual:
If some of your pads are physically/mechanically isolated you can place pads into 8 different
Xtalk groups so that the Xtalk setting only evaluated against within the same group thus avoiding
unnecessary suppression
.
but with this setting i have a lot of xtalk from most of the pads
now am using the same group xtalk for all the pads , group 4 , value 4-5 and is much better but still some xtalk coming from
snare rim and ride!!

skipped note when two pads are hit together depends on xtalk suppression. ?

i would try to put just the kick pad roland kd8 on a differnet group xtalk and see if when hit floor tom/snare and kick together there are skippep notes from f.tom-and snare.

have difficulties on setting right the hithat with hall sensor allegro a1302KUA
can not get right chick some are palyed some are delayed and always the spalsh in the end
for now have disabled soft chick
i am able to set low level an high level and have 4 different hit on full range vu meter ok

but when playing hithat i can see on the big meter or mdm that pedal full released don t have always full open hit
sometime half open and sometime all open, same thing when pedal fully pressed some time hit full closed but some time
semi closed , act randomly.
am using SUPERIOR DRUMMER

Let's start with two pads. You place them into two different XTalkGroups. They are mechanically isolated but you still have crosstalk between them?

now am using the same group xtalk for all the pads , group 4 , value 4-5 and is much better but still some xtalk coming from
snare rim and ride!!

Yes. The lower XTalk the less suppression between pads.

i would try to put just the kick pad roland kd8 on a differnet group xtalk and see if when hit floor tom/snare and kick together there are skippep notes from f.tom-and snare.

Please, create two separate topics for these two problems and describe them there with more details, like HiHat pedal settings, if you're using MIDI CC for pedal position in SD or you're using MegaDrums HiHat's positional notes and etc.
