Interesting question. I got my hands on the td-7 and td-8 service manuals...and yes...there are some passive components on the input stage. I got tempted to test so i have built some stuff but have not tested it yet. I am in general satisfied with the MD triggering...but in my journey to always reach the optimal...I thought, why not give it a try from a educating standpoint. I have been testing and comparing my old TD-6 with the MegaDrum and the algorithm is differing a bit. (no news!) however, it is possible to copy the algorithm with a custom curve and some compression + levelshift. I am going to do some more test...before publish my findings for both the soft part and if the passive component makes any difference.
Best Regards
