All midi signals maxed out

If it's not because of the Curve set to Max, I'm out of ideas.

Could it be a problem with my inputs wiring? Or some fault on the board? Like many users here I'm no pro when it comes to soldering (as you could probably guess from my having mixed up resistors previously). What surprises me is that it gets the variable voltage and interprets that at some level for the HiLvlAuto function but doesn't send the right signal when it comes to midi.

I also just played around with the high-hat controller jack (earthing to ground and connecting to power source) and I do get variable values from that jack.

I suggested several possible causes. You say none of them are valid causes. Apart from I already suggested I have no idea why you're getting max velocities only. I doubt it has anything to with wiring or soldering.

I'm so excited, I loaded an older firmware (20091217) and am getting variable levels! I guess you were right Dmitri that it was a software issue and not my wiring/soldering, I'm just glad that I managed to work it out.

I'm too scared to reload the newer firmware and see if this bug repeats itself for now but will report back when I've had more of a chance to build and play

I reloaded firmware 20100516 and had the same problem with midi signals being maxed out. Must be a problem with this firmware and something specific to the Synthex v3.1 56i board (I guess). This is a pity because my rotary encoders are the 2-tick per click type and I wanted the Alt-encoders option.

I guess my next step is to get one of these encrypted chips and try the latest firmware to see if the issue is resolved? For now I have reloaded 20091217 and am getting variable levels so can continue my build At least I have narrowed down the problem.

The new chip with encrypted boot loader arrived today and worked straight away with variable levels. All is well, thanks Dmitri.
