Trimpots

Postby sbonasuk » Tue Mar 29, 2016 7:13 pm

Good Evening

I use 100k trimpots with a single turn configuration to cool the piezos, and whilst i'm in the process of moving from 3.5mm to 6.35mm output jacks and a new case I thought that I would change the pots as well. I noticed that the difference between hot and cool is sometimes almost an imperceptible movement on the pot, so would moving to say 50k or less give a wider margin of adjustment?

The trimpots are in between the megadrum output and the jack socket is there any benefit or difference moving them to the piezo end?

Thanks all

With the 100k trimpot find the best position. After that measure impedance of the trimpot between pins you used. Say you got 10K. Use a 20k (2x10k) trimpot instead of 100k after that. Or better yet (cheaper) use a simple 10k resistor.
