Piezos NOT hot?

I have 3 different brands of piezos I've tried with my AtoE kit. None of them are reading hot with megadrum. High level Auto registers around 200-250 with gain at 0. I've ruled out placement because it's fairly consistent regardless of build method or attachment style. I find it strange after reading so much about everyone's need to "cool" piezos. Neither my AtoE drums or cymbals are hot. Any ideas?

Your AtoE pads/cymbals are not "hot" so there is nothing to worry about. You may in fact raise Gain to get higher HighLevel when doing 'auto HighLevel' - the higher the better but not more then ~800-900 - that way you will get better dynamic resolution.
