Hi-Hat Chicks and Splash Performance on "Pot" Cntrlr

Hi all, wondering if anyone can provide any advice or detail on any successes that have been had on hihat chicks and splashes when using the 'Pot" setting for Hi-Hat controller rather than CC4 message handling.

I'm playing around with Native Instruments "Studio Drummer" which to me has the best samples and is a little better sound wise than Superior Drummer.
The only problem with the Native Instruments Studio Drummer is that it handles CC4 messages poorly for Hi-Hat articulations and I've found the best performance can be achieved by setting the controller to a "Pot" type in Megadrum and assigning the appropriate articluations manually.

I'm wondering how Megadrum handles Chicks and Splashes when in "Pot" mode as I only seem to get Chicks, can't get any splashes despite setting the appropriate splash note number.

Superior Drummer sorts these things out itself via CC4 messages and I have no complaints whatsoever with its performance with Megadrum, it triggers like a dream.

But, to overcome the shortcomings of the Native Instruments Studio Drummer, I'm finding I need to use a "Pot" type controller and am trying to understand how Megadrum determines to send a "Splash" note?

I don't see any settings related to Splash other than setting the note number.

Also, do the "Alt Algo" settings for the hi-hat apply for a "Pot" type controller or just a 'Foot Controller" setting for CC4 messages?

I'm wondering if careful configuration of the "Chicks" will then lead to better recognition of 'splashes"?

Any info would be great.

Apologies, I should have said "New Algrthm" instead of "Alt".

Wondering if this and the corresponding settings such as MinVlcty, MaxVlcty, ChckDead, ChkCrv also apply for "Pot" type hihat controllers?
