Please, re-download it again. I've updated it and implemented a new workaround for Windows/Java/USB MIDI sysex corruption. You should not get any timeouts because I could reproduce all the timeouts you were getting and with the workaround I get none. Make sure you really re-download it and not get it from a browser cache. Or you can download a zipped file instead: http://www.megadrum.info/downloads/Inst ... 170510.zip

My testing shows that I fixed the issue so I just published a new version 20170511.

Hi everyone, i’m new here and just getting to grips with Md and MDM…

Not sure this is the right place to post, apologies if not, pelase advise!

I’m really excited to incorporate it into my invention of many, many years ago (www.thejamma.com).

I've had some problems with firmware upgrade today that might help other people and perhaps answer a question for me.

I tried to upgrade and the MDM upgrade manager said “MegaDrum not responding” whenever i tried. I turned MD and the laptop off, reloaded MDM and tred again but now, the MD is dead, won't switch on at all.

30 minutes of retrying and looking around with strange things happening revealed that there was a dry joint on the on/off switch! This was causing MD to turn on and off very strangely (of course) but i thought that was part of the problem with the upgrade install.

I shorted the on/of switch with a link and MD boots up - but only in firmware update mode. I can't get it to do anything else!

In desperation I tried on my old laptop ‘just in case’ and hey, it works! The firmware upgrade worked perfectly. My new laptop has windows 10 and my old one has an older version.

The other issue i have found with my win10 laptop is i can't get MDM to recognise the firmware in green, i just get ‘internal midi error’ in red on the top right - but - i am using the same configuration in MDM and it works on my old laptop!?

Has anyone else has issues like this?

:) Pete

Dmitri,

No I had the same experienced problems with the 20170511. I will try change the Java version and see if this is improving the situation. I will go for Java 8, 131.

The Jamma, yes the connection between MDM and MD in W10 seems to generate some problems. Have not seen the issues you describe...but Sysex info like upgrade fw could be a problem...during the current circumstances.

Best regards

Anders

I just tested it again in a Windows 10 VM clicking everywhere and it worked perfectly.
