3.2 inch TFT LCD

Postby Stephen Spurlock » Fri Nov 17, 2017 8:08 am

Has anyone has had luck with a larger LCD? I am wanting to upgrade my LCD but don't really understand the options. The most common 3.2inch I can find is for Arduino Mega2560. I believe the controller is ILI9481. I currently have the 2.8inch ILI9341 and it works great. My only issue is I cut the hole in my enclosure to match the screen not the "viewable" area. When I turned it on it didin't look as great as I hoped. One solution is just to get a bigger screen and make my hole bigger because I can't make it smaller! I was able to find the pinout for all the wires I need to connect and it is 5v. I have the MegaDrum 56 input STM32F205RCT6. Will this work: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-2-inch-320-4 ... Swbl5ZfDc9 or am I missing something?

Advice before I order it would be great. Thanks.

I've also wondered the same but am wary about the pin connections. I think the screen you linked to, although it uses the same controller (ILI9341), has higher resolution (320x480) and might not work. This one has the right resolution (320x240) and might work, but as I say, it has many more pins and the names seem to change on some of them. If someone with knowledge about this could shed some light I'd be willing to give it a go.

I also cut out too big of a hole but fixed it by making a "frame" using vinyl.

I live in Thailand and my Russian is not very good...I am wording what the different controllers are. I found this one: https://www.lazada.co.th/autoleader-32- ... f6e4rHRZpu

The controller is: SSD1289. That seems really different than ILI9341. I don't know if that is Apple and Apple or Apple and Oranges..!?

I don't think that will work. With the screen I linked to you can choose what controller you want it to come with.

Russian?

So…I am slow at this. I am in the process of building cymbals and a full time job! I am about to order a new LCD.

The LCD I am going to order is a ILI934 module, that is 3.2in with 240x320 resolution.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-2-Inch-ILI93 ... SwmOJaIwKj . There is link for the data sheet on the bay sellers page. It is in Chinese so I don’t understand it.

I did find this: http://www.elecfreaks.com/wiki/index.ph ... een_Module. I don’t know if it is helpful.

There a lot of pins and I have a lot of questions!

Can I assume that the pins with “SD_” at the beginning are for the SD card? And therefore useless for me?

Can I assume that the pins with “T_” are for the touch functions?

Can I assume that NC is not helpful for me?

If 1 & 2 & 3 are true. I can’t find which pins are SCK (CLK) or SDA (SDI, MOSI). Does anyone out there in the world wide web know which pins those are? Or even what they mean? If I am wrong about 1 &/or 2, I could use “SD_CLK” “T_CLK” for the SCK (CLK) but that is a big jump for me not really understanding.

I assumed that LED could be “LED_A” is that safe?

I assumed CS was what I wanted for “CS” but there is “F_CS.” Does anyone know what the difference is?

I posted a picture below of how I will connect it to MegaDrum.

Thanks.
