lost

Hi All,

I'm lost. I've started over with my megadrum kit by selecting a new config. so everything was back at 0. I first selected the kick, searched for the kick note in Superior Drummer. copied the note over the megadrum manager and pressed send. It all worked find. Did the same for the snare. worked as a charmed. and I continued my way around my drum kit. Afterwards I noticed that my snare didn't work anymore. but whenever I hit the hihat, the snare was also triggered and the snare worked again. and then all of a sudden the snare stopped again untill I hit the hihat.

I'm at the point where I almost want to go to the shop and by a new drum module. The only thing holding me here is the fact that I believe in this project. But every time I start up the megadrum module and my computer, I need to tune it again. or the megadrum module show weird readings. I just want to record my drums and go make a record with my band

Could someone please guide me through this all?

Don't get the bus to the shop just yet all is not lost. You need to save your config to either your pc (save as) or save to your Megadrum (save to slot)
Next time you want to open MD either get Megadrum to auto load or get the file from your pc and send to MD.
If your snare is triggering from your hi hat take a look at the midi log and see if it is crosstalk or a programming error.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

yeah, I knew that. But for some reason the drumkit always plays different. it even sometimes looks like it's been reset

Well, it's not really the snare being triggered by the hihat. let me explain: I play the drumkit, everything works as (almost) planned. And all of a sudden the snare input doesn't get a signal. even after hitting it a few times. but when i hit my hihat, all of a sudden the snare note plays along with the hihat note. and then the snare plays normally for a short time, and then it stops again untill I hit my hihat. and so on.

perhaps my megadrum module is just broken or something. I've had it for 3 years now I think.

What is the midi log showing?

Highly unlikely.

Had this in my early Megadrum days too. Locking in safer (better) settings helped enormously make the whole drum-kit feel much less error prone.

Assuming you have a working calibration, I would try putting CC Reduction Lvl on 2 and Retrigger Mask to 20 - copy to all inputs.

This will vastly reduce the amount of signals going to your computer. So regardless of non-optimal calibration, if your snare no longer cuts out, this could be a strong indication of where the true problem lies.

Also make sure you hit your pads hard after you calibrate and sort out any double triggering that may not be revealed at normal velocities.
