Alesis Crimson pads - positional sending?

Postby PaulF707 » Wed May 16, 2018 6:20 am

Can anyone confirm if the Alesis Crimson 10" mesh pads are capable of working with the positional sending add-on board?
Looking on thomann.de they would appear to be the cheapest dual zone mesh pads, and I know from reading other posts here that the Millennium dual zone mesh pads have a side mounted trigger and are not ideal for positional sending....

If anyone has any experience of the Crimson pads and can advise on their quality/suitability for using with Megadrum I would be very grateful.
Or any other suggestions for economical dual zone mesh pad (ideally with positional sending possibilities).

(I am also looking at DIY options, but I'm not sure that is the way I want to go....)

Just seen this image:

From here:

The article itself is not that useful, but the photo of the inside of the pad is interesting.

Not sure if this indicates a centre trigger or not.....

Well there are wires going to something in the centre. My money is on it being a piezo.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.
