Hello
i wanna buit those drums...but i have some questions and that's what keeps form advancing with the building.the may lokk like really stupid and silly questions.but i don't know.
1.cand i built those drums in a way that they don't make any noise in the room when i hit the snare for example? as in only the piezzo elements cand "hear" the hit and forward it to the pc?
2 .the jack conections...on the piezzo side...i understood that are 2 piezzo elements on every imput. are they conected..lig the groun si common and the + of the sesor are separate?if so wich one is wich? and on the trums where do i put those piezzo elements?
3. the hit hat pedal. how ti's made and i saw there is a switch on the board...what does it do?

and how does the pc reconize the drums?as a sound card?or what?

No simple answer to any of these, I would suggest browsing around http://www.vdrums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=48 for instructions on building the Drum Pads and hihat controller...

It recognizes it as a "USB Audio Device".

I definitely would listen to what jamal said. The best place to look would probably be the thread with the links. It's near the top ad labeled as a sticky. LOTS of great webpages with great info.

And yes, you can build drums that are quiet (it will still make some noise, but very little). What you need are mesh heads. If you don't know what the head of a drum is, I suggest you research about drums a bit before you build an electric drumkit or the megadrum.

As for the wiring to the piezo's, here's the diagram from Beatnik, a well-known DIY'er.

A for hihat... Several ways to do it, but I can't look for it ight now because I have to go to class. Go to vdrums.com/forum and search for hihat ideas.
