Superior 2 and cymbal choke

Postby trapkatman » Tue Mar 03, 2009 5:42 pm

I can not get the cymbal choke to work in superior. If someone who has it working could post the setting they are using please. I have tried aftertouch and note off just nothing give me the choke effect. I can get head note and I am getting the aftertouch from the switch but it just will not choke the sound.

One thing I have noticed is that the head note works fine but the note for the rim with switch depressed will not always come up in the midi monitor. If I hit the head pad 5 times in a row with the switch depressed it may fire the rim note 1 time. The rim indicator shows rim everytime.

1. Does Superior support choking?
2. If it supports choking, does Superior use 'aftertouch' or special note for choking?
3. What cymbal do you have?
4. What MegaDrum settings did you use?
5. Did you follow the MegaDrum Documentation to configure a dual piezo/switch pad/cymbal?

I found the problem. It was a default setting in protools. The all except midi botton was checked so all aftertouch signals were being filter by protools. Boy what a pain, but happy my megadrum works.
