Probleme with Note number.

Postby Bulok » Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:27 pm

Hello.

I am anxious to congratulate the work made on the megadrum module, it is hallucinating :)

I have however a small problem for some weeks...

My Snare pad doesn't work correctly.
When I play this, I obtains hi-hat sound (Bow half-open to be exact) but on the MegaDrum screen, it's good the zone snare which is detected.

In Megadrum config, when I change the note Bow Half-open F#2 (42) in D2 (38) I obtains the sound of my snare drum...
If i change the number note to my snare pad, nothing spend it :/

I hope it's understandable .. because my english is not very well :p

Thank you in advance.

To be honest I didn't understand the description of your problem.

lol ok ..

Hum ... I have to try to make an update and it has not worked.

But on the other hand my problem disappeared :/
Sorry to have you to disturb for that.

One idea for a Hit-hat RHH135 of Yamaha ? I read that it not worked with megadrum module but I possess that one.

Where did you read that it would not work?

But if working, do you have the good configuration ? :/
I don't find the good configuration :'(

This guy says he could not make VH-12 to work where it has been reported to work with MegaDrum. Why would you trust his word on RHH-135 which he didn't even have? I don't see a reason for it not to work.
Find out if it is Power-on-Ring/Signal-on-Tip or Power-on-Tip/Signal-on-Ring. Find out what resistance it has between ground and the signal contact (Ring or Tip). According to your findings connect it properly wired either to High or Low impedance HiHat pedal input. Then you'll just need to find right settings.

Thank you for your help.

I don't have the materials for test my rhh 135.. :'(

but i have find this :

jdigdug wrote:I read 145kOhm for all pedal positions on tip2ring. On tip2sleeve the resistance varies from infinite on pedal up to 145kOhm on pedal down.

I had some success with setting the hh controller input to 'high impedance' and pedal polarity to 'tip +5V / ring input', but I had to set AltIn to 'yes' in the menu. Not sure what problem 'AltIn' is supposed to solve but it seems necessary for this controller.

At this point, I can get CC messages from the point the top pad touches the bottom plate (pedal up position) all the way to where the buffer between the top pad and the bottom plate is fully compressed (a flexible rubber ring at the bottom of the pad is what's compressing here). Very difficult to get half-open notes, no success with splash yet, and chick happens more than I expect. Perhaps my dynamic range is set poorly, perhaps using a non-linear curve will help, not sure. When I figure out how to make it more dynamic I'll post in this thread with my updated settings.

Anyone using one of these RHH-135, feel free to post your experience.

Hum .. my pb with my snare pad returned when i pug-in my hit-hat pedal ... Now, my snare pad doesn't work -_-

Well, it does mean that it is a high impedance pedal so must be connected to the High impedance pedal input with Alt In set to Yes. Disabling "soft chicks" is implemented in the recent firmware versions. I'd be able to give more advice if I had a more complete description/schematic of RHH-135 and voltage/resistance readings in various positions.

You likely messed up connections somewhere.

It is impossible to figure out anything reliable from the pictures, it is still a "black box".
