Megadrum with less input

Postby fg61 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:01 pm

Hi there,
I'd like to expand the inputs of my TD12 with a few more inputs. I use my setup for e-drumming with virtual drum softwares (AD, BFD Eco, SSD4). So I don't need 32 mono (16 dual) input. Is it possible to get a Megadrum with less inputs? I'm interested in a full kit or a complete version. Or could you suggest any other solution?
Thanks
Gabor

The main reason all kits have 56 inputs is that making it with less inputs won't make it noticeably cheaper. As for the 32 inputs module (17 jacks) the only saving will be with input jacks so with e.g. 16 inputs (9 jacks) it will cost about 8GBP less.

Hi again,
what if I'd like to buy a 32 inputs kit? I see only 56 inputs kit. Or maybe the kit is the same for 32 inputs and the end result depends on how many jack I put into the box...
Thanks

Thanks, I suspected it...:-) But I hoped that I can save a little more, let's say 3GBP. :-)
Don't worry Dmitri, I only asked it to be sure.

Stupid question again.
If I buy a 56 inputs kit but I'd like to build a 32 inputs MD what should I do?

You just use 32 out of 56 inputs.

Hi,
Regarding dual inputs. On Roland modules if I use splitter cable on a dual input the two device connected can not be used in the same time. I mean they can not generate output together only one after another. Is the situation the same with MD or it works another way?

However, Merry Christmas! :)

In MegaDrum two inputs on the same stereo jack are completely independent unless they're joined up by setting DualHead to Yes.

Thanks, sounds great!
Another question. Please don't take my questions wrong I really like your product, it's a great idea and device and I'm definitely going to have one. I only try to check every aspects before I decide how to get and which configuration.
So isn't there any kind of preset in or regarding MD? As I see the configuration isn't to easy because of the many options to set. Maybe it would be more easy to have some starting points for example for Roland or Yamaha stuff. What do you think?
