Postby ddropski » Sun Sep 07, 2014 2:29 am

hi everyone I was thinking about it and realized I had made a ton of meaningless threads ... although I learned a lot I though it was time I start a build specific thread this way something I learn could be helpful to the forum ( and we can learn together :)

every one is welcome to help and picth in anything they know ! AS I DONT KNOW MUCH BUT LEARNING :) lol

here is what the set consists of
56 port Megadrum with PS (made by Dmitri the Great )

1 kd9 kick
7 pintech Concertcast (2 pzo Center and rim mounted)
5 single piezo cymbals
2 cy8 cymbals (I believe they are piezo and switch combo)
1 cy12 hihat (Piezo and Switch Combo)
1cy15r ride (2port) (3zone pad)
1 fd8 hihat pedal with a 1ok resister installed
1 pintech dingbat (Single Piezo ) (tube Drum)
1 dauz drum ( Small single piezo ) rubber pad drum

this is on a roland frame ....and I have a pearl demon driver (direct drive) double bass pedal

so with no further ado Ladies and Gentlemen I Present to you :

CONFIG FILE

so here is the config file I plan I was not sure how I was going to make the keymap so I used (Maps and preset guide for addictive 2) and just added drums in the places that were not used

I wanted it to be friendly more so to addictive drums and ad2 ( because I think they have the most features (I could be wrong)

but I also use bfd Bfd 2 and superior

if anyone has any tips ... feel free to change and post them back (please let everyone know what was changed)

What do you guys think ? at this point im mostly concerned anout the keymap (Notes) not the actual drum configurations any idead to clean it up its a little scatterd all across the board ?

From Dmitri's explanation

'All gains low'

Setting this to Yes will disable all individual input Gain levels and make Gain even lower than 'Gain Level' 0. It could be used if all your pads are 'hot' and to get a better dynamic range with such pads.

koby drums - Triggera krigg/Bix - megadrum - Kontakt........... Samples from all and sundry.

'All gains low' is used only on old Atmega versions of MegaDrum.

So it doesn't override the gain settings then?

No, it doesn't. On ARM MegaDrum it is completely ignored.

Good to know.

You can set the inputs at 40 as you're not using all of them.
I don't think you'll need minscan set so high (on the kd-9), but I could be wrong.

"You can set the inputs at 40 as you're not using all of them."

I set the unused ports to 0 .. is 40 better to use ?

ill try the min scan thing when I get home from work

kool ill try that thanks guys .. right now im trying to set up the toms I plan on 2 a day then the last 2 days setting cymbals

its kool that my build is a good focal point for us to learn new things ... that's what I was hoping for :)

so far I have the kd,snare hihat and pedal and 2 toms set ...

although I find it very very difficult to mind a good match between mis triggering .. and missing beats but im working on it

I have the pintech concertcast 10 inch toms

ALSO I JUST ORDERD 2 triggera kriggs

then ill sell the kd9 I guess

weird c1 triggering problem

when you load this config file and change tom 5 to Yamaha 3 ch/ piezo it send out a million c-1 messages that it freezes the mdm and in one case froze my pc (turn your volume down it will blow your speakers

the weird part is I have only my snare and 4 toms connected ,,, and c-1 is no where to be found

also I tried to reset the md and no matter what when it loads it loads my config file ( I even un pluged it and restarted my computer )
I have load config no each time

I have even loaded a default map and no matter what it keeps my pad settings

thank you sir

Dave

1. C-1 is Note 0 (Disabled) and it is set in many places in your config. Note 0 really means Disabled only if you set main Note to 0 if you want to disable an input. In all other places Note 0 is interpreted by MegaDrum as Note 0 (C-1) and if this particular note (AltNote/PressrollNote, 3rd zone Note/AltNote/PressrollNote/DampenedNote) is triggered due to configuration then MegaDrum will send this Note 0 (C-1).

2. I didn't quite understand what causes MegaDrum/MDM to hung. Please describe in step by step what needs to be done to reproduce the problem.
