Does alesis pro x hi hat work with megadrum

Hi guys,

I have just got megadrum (thanks to Dmitri) and going to begin convert my acoustic drum to an electonic one. I am looking for a realistic hi hat. Most diy hi hats dont look realistic. Finally i found Alesis pro x hihat. It look like a real hi hat. But there is no video about it. I think about buying this product but dont have any idea does it work with megadrum module. Did anyone try thar compination. I checked forum but cant find any topic about my question. If there is so sorry about. Thanks for answers now.

I see no reason why not. The important thing with hi hats is the sound source you are connecting to and how many articulation etc. It certainly, financially, more appealing than Roland stuff.

I read some forums about it. Most user concern about it doesnt work with dm 6 module. And its catalogue says produced for dm 8 and dm 10. May it be not work properly with other modules?

Well, oddly enough I bought a DM6 this week for my daughter and the hi hat set up on that is a bit strange. It only really acts as a switch, as opposed to the 'pro X' which uses continuous controller.

I think this would work fine but be aware that this will only do limited articulations - half open etc.
As I say above the sound source you are going to use is quite important as to your choosing to buy this hi hat.

Propably i'll buy this product. I wish could view some sample how does it work especially with megadrum. But there is no video of it on any video site. When i buy i will share my experience and sample vids.

Has anyone tested so far? I also converting to e-drums and want not to change my DW 9000 hi-hat stand for an electronic one

Hi,

bought it one week ago, it don't work correctly (with DM10 also), maybe update on DM10 firmware will solve the problems.
At now, better and cheaper use Real Hat (Alesis) with a dual zone cymbal, i reach a good result.
