What connects to CN1 and CN4?

For initial programming of Atmega and PIC. You won't need to use them.

Are the correct rotary encoders 2bit Grey Code?

Yes.

Sorry if I missed this info, but what is left to be done/bought, beside the casing?
As far as I can tell from the full kit pics, it`s the TRS inputs. Anything else?

hi,

I've read somewhere that one of commercial sound module had the disadvantage of loss of bits at high speed hitting (e.g. >1000 bpm). Is this defect may be present in MegaDrum kit?

1000bpm = 16 hits per second. 60ms between hits. With proper configuration I don't see a problem with even higher rates. You can do even "pressed rolls".

The mechanics of your input device will become the restriction in how high you can take your bpm before loss of bits will occur. Example, if you use a mesh head on your trigger then the larger the diameter of the drum the more sensitive the input becomes to false triggers. The larger mesh head will have more of a rebound due to the nature of the metrial haveing extra "bounce" thus you tweak the sensitivity settings on the input device not to register the extra bounce data of the drum head as a hit.

Not sure if I'm correctly describeing this in a way that will make sense to everyone, so if this doesnt make sense then it is the issue of my vague descriptions of the mechanics of the trigger input characteristics.

A better paraphrase of my description would be: if your trigger device can create a clean output signal greater than 1000 bpm then MegaDrum will have no issue processing the data.

I don't send kits uninsured to anywhere. Only insured postage.
