Because MD covers so many pads etc there is no real default settings.
As I say, post a screen shot of MDM or make a list from MD.
The important ones, at this stage, are note, threshold and gain. If your piezo is not working I would guess you have note at 0.

Right. I get what you mean. So I would have to go through mdm and set how sensative I want each one as it doesn't know yet ?

basically, yes. I think some of the channels are disabled from default.

Ok. Would toubrevcomebd balancing threshold and gain to get the best sensitivity ?

No, I would suggest building your pads first before worrying about any other settings.

Ok that's kl. so will the mesh heads I have really make that much difference ? Compared to the bare piezo ?

theoretically though this shouldnt be the case should it? if i get a lowish signal on the bare piezo, shouldnt i get an even lower signal from the head?

How many piezos have you tested? Sometimes the soldered connection on the ceramic part can get slightly loose without completely breaking off and they only react to hard hits. Happened to me a few times.
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.

thats a fair point actually, the one i have been using for testing has had to be re-soldred a couple of times
