I set the Autoload Conf to no and rebooted. The problem disappeared. I loaded my config and set the Autoload conf to yes and rebooted. The problem is still gone and autoload worked. Great!

This was just a quick test, but very promising. I'll be back after doing more testing tomorrow.

This whole problem was pretty weird. Do you have any idea what could have caused it? Thanks for your help.

You probably updated the firmware with a bootloader and didn't load default settings after the update (key RIGHT while powering up)

Remember you can save your current config with the Megadrum COnfig tool in a file in your PC, so you can restore it after each firmware update.

My Megadrum still isn't working as it's supposed to. The one problem that has not been solved yet, is the crash triggering additional snare notes.

I'm just wondering, if it's caused by a short somewhere, shouldn't the snare also trigger the crash? I would also find it more believable if the snare and the crash channels were next to each other, but there's a ride channel in between them. I have ofcourse checked the board a hundred times for shorts, but with no luck. Is there any other possible cause than a short?

The notes for each of the channels are what they should be, and the configuration is very close to default. Judging from Midi Ox's input monitor, this is a Megadrum problem, not a software problem.

It doesn't matter how the channels are called in the MegaDrum, it's just convenience. What matters is what notes assigned to the channels. Connect your crash and snare to other channels, say Aux1 and Aux2, and test it there. Is the problem the same?

No it doesn't. I guess I'll have to check my board another hundred times. Or then just leave it for now and use some other inputs. I just don't get how I may have not seen the short after looking the goddamn board for hours.

And my hihat still beeps so I've got at least 2 shorts to find.

I'm so frustrated with this and everything else right now that it might be better to forget this for a while and continue when my head is clear.
