I am still determined to make this circuit work. I have tried it two ways. With R2 as shown in schematic at each of the red circles. When I put R2 where on the edge switch the bell works fine, but no edge switch. When I put R2 on the bell switch the edge works fine, but no bell.

Am I understanding it right that the MD "senses" by the different resistors which trigger to activate?

Kinda. More precisely it senses it by voltage.

Thanks for the reply Dmitri. Here's where I stand right now. I removed R2 altogether. I now get bell sounds when I hit the bell, I get a choke on the edge, and I get the bow sound. I don't however get an edge sound now. I am sure it must be in the settings, but I am not familiar enough yet to figure it all out. Do you think that I am getting anywhere close to the proper voltage with this setup?

I almost feel like I am confusing the MD.

I honestly don't know what to recommend without testing it myself.

OK. I am waiting on some piezos in the mail. I will send you all of this stuff when I get the piezos if you don't mind looking it over for me. I can attach it to a piece of 6mm plywood if you want. If you don't want to mess with it, that's OK too, but I think this would be a good DIY option if we could get it to work.

I was under the impression that not only are the the 3 zone Yamahas cymbals the best you can get, but also that they are fully supported on the megadrum ?
What's the advantage to this development from your point of view?

I can have a look without any guarantee it'll work. If you send it, make sure it is full assembled and with a jack so that I didn't have to mess around with it as I have a 3-zone Yamaha cymbal which works fine.

Ken, I am only trying to use a piezo for the bell instead of a switch. Other than that I don't have any advantages to speak of. I haven't seen a good diy bell switches that i would be proud of yet. If you have a better idea let me know.

What I send will be fully functional to the best of what I have designed. the only thing it will lack is the cymbal itself and that only because I don't have an extra. I totally understand that it may not work, but I think that's how many diy projects start. As soon as I receive the piezo's that i am waiting on I will let you know.

Thanks,
Jeremy
