If a pad is too "hot" it must be "cooled" with a voltage divider, regardless of it being Roland or not.

If a pad is too "hot", for good triggering it must be "cooled" with a voltage divider, regardless of it being Roland or not.

If I'm not mistaken Roland mesh pads use a 35mm piezo, and would possibly be useful to use a 25mm or smaller, if available, to help with the whole/partial issue. I've even heard of people flipping the piezo over... yeah. Regardless, this takes surgery, and building a module for resistance to "cool the drum" would be easier overall. No?

Taking in account the cost of Roland pads, I understand why people are not willing to do any "surgery" on them. In this case, an external "voltage divider" is an easy and non-surgical way to "cool" down a pad.

Is there an advice or tutorial on how to build optimal pads for MD?

Do you have instructions on building this voltage divider box? I'm sure I can google it, but wanted to see if you already had something.

Since you don't have any soldering experience, as "a one off" I will make one voltage divider box (or cable) and send it to you to try.
Certainly you will also need to understand all the pads settings to know what to tweak. Even with the voltage divider it is not going to be 'plug-n-play' - MegaDrum is not a magic box and wasn't designed and preconfigured to work with some particular brand of pads. I designed and tested it with my set of gear - Pintech snare and cymbal, Yamaha PCY135 (big thanks to r0bbie for donating one!), Yamaha PD-80s pad, Millenium cymbals, DIY mesh toms, DIY optical HH controller and DIY mesh kick. Unfortunately Roland pads are not in the list so I cannot test it myself and make tested suggestions.

E.g. viewtopic.php?p=11911#p11911
Btw, rubber pads very unlikely need to be "cooled" even if they are Roland rubber pads.
