This how I do it:

Starting megadrum in boot-modus. First problem I have here, is that I can't change frequency from 16 mhz to 20. Somehow I don't find the "up" button you describe in your guidline. When I push the left button again Megadrum switches to something like "update firmware from pc". I then start the atmega 1248 56 input firmware, choose midi in and out-put and then press enter. The update-program then tries to transfer data but stops at 0 % showing me an error (rnc error or something like that, I will tell you what it says exactely later) and then over and over again tries to start the data transfer again without any success, though.

Hope you get what I'm trying to describe here. My English is a bit limited.

You must change frequency to 20MHz.

Could you tell how to do that? What's the "up" button you describe in your guidline? When I push the left button it changes to "start firmwareupdate from pc" when I push the right button nothing happens.

The UP button is the top button between the rotary encoders.

I had that problem too. I didn`t see the up/down buttons.
They are very small and of the same color as the front panel.
Located between the rotary encoders.

Thank you. Found the buttons and managed to update megadrum.

One thing I noticed after the update: The rotary buttons got way to sensitive now. One turn skips one or even three settings...very hard to navigate through all the settings now...

As for my roland pd 105 maybe being too hot (can anybody confirm this??): After setting all gains low to yes, the highest level I got was around 880. Is that ok?

Also I don't find a way of saving my settings. After having configured a pad and turning of the module and switching it on again, everything seems to be set to default again.

And the most important questions: DOES ANYBODY IN HERE HAVE SETTINGS FOR A ROLAND PD 1xx ? I just can't be the first person to ever use a PD 105 with megadrum?!

Also, regarding dmitris guidline on configuring a drumpad, I would like to know how I can make out wrong notes? Because even with all the mentioned parameters reduced to 0 I still get a D (which it's supposed to be....so no wrong note??)

Still a problem: Hot spot is pretty reduced (which is good :) ), however: no soft hits at the outer part of the rim are registered and press-rolls lead to left-out hits.

Getting pretty frustrated here....

You have to set AltEncoders to Yes after each upgrade. This advice is in the e-mail I sent you when I posted the module.

HiLvlAuto is still set to No? Then If it doesn't go higher after a dozen hard hits then it should be ok. You will want to set HiLvlAuto to No after that.

Also I don't find a way of saving my settings. After having configured a pad and turning of the module and switching it on again, everything seems to be set to default again.

You have to save the settings.

What are "all the mentioned parameters" which you reduced to 0? What "D" do you still get? Is it what you expect or not?

Still a problem: Hot spot is pretty reduced (which is good :) ), however: no soft hits at the outer part of the rim are registered and press-rolls lead to left-out hits.

What are your settings now?

Getting pretty frustrated here....

I'd suggest you to leave it for some time, calm down, and come back to resolve it later. I do notice you keep not paying attention to quite a few things I pointed out in the configuration documentation and here in this topic. This must be due to getting frustrated and it won't help solving the problem.

1. Try to set the altencoders=yes....solves the problem with the rotarybuttons.
2. Saving...go to the save config menu on the MD...when reaching the menu...use the right rotary button twist it to you see 1 and then press the right rotary...and wait until the screen says done. Don't forget to set the autoload config=yes...this will load the config 1 everytime you boot the Megadrum.
3. The PD105 configs on the forum are very old...a decade in Megadrum time...and many firmwares later...this is the problem...most drummers that find their settings does not bother posting them back to the forum. Promise that you will do it when you find the optimal settings. Somebody told me that pd-125 are very similar to 682drums triggers...and i have configurated these. Check my site....here you can download the syx file.

Wow! Anders, your configuration for the 682 trigger is by far the best config I've tried so far for my PD 105!!! At least I get an even response at every part of the head now! No more dead zones!!! Thats a great relief!

I will promise to post the best config for my PD 105. Problem is, though, that I have to return it tomorrow putting me under a little time-pressure here :)

I'm pretty satisfied with the result (what a sudden improvement).

Only thing that still has to be eliminated is, that I get hits, I didn't do. E.g. when I hit in the drum with both sticks in 16th (slow bpm) I randomly get 3 or 4 hits at once with one hit, making it sound as if instead of hitting the drum I would do a short press-roll with one stick. Hard to describe. I hope you get what I mean.

Which parameter would have an influence on that?

In terms of lack of attention you're probably right dmitri. Frustration always results in stubborness and blindness. I have no choice, though, as I have to return the drum tormorrow.

The config of Anders, however, made me a little more confident. It really seems to be a matter of finding the right settings. Just where to start is a really tough thing to deal with.

I'm not sure I understand the description of the problem. Maybe Anders does? And then I may suggest what to do.

Let me put it this way: When I hit the drum with one single strike repeatedly some strikes result in sounds of not one, but two or three hits, almost sounding like a short press-roll instead of one single hit.

It seems as if the piezo sometimes sends out more than one signal (although being triggered by just one single hit).
