Halfway hihat pedal positions suppress hits of rolls

Hoping this stranger can revive this post, and possibly help assist. I have been using my pedal (Roland VH-12) without 'New Algorithm' also for the same reason. The smoothness with CC Suppression is much more steady with New Algorithm off, and much more jumpy with it on. It simply is the case and I'm not really sure why.

I have tried all sorts of settings, thinking that the added options with New Algorithm needed to be adjusted just right, but it seems a loss no matter where I set them.

Is there a "flat" setting for the MinVel, MaxVel, ChkDead and Curve that would be equal to having New Algorithm turned off? That might be a good starting point. Thanks!
