looks easy to realised...how is the result?

The max distance is a little over 2cm, so not a big change to the old setup with an A1301 sensor and N45 magnet. Overall it looks a bit more accurate and the big plus is you don't have to get the magnet so close to the sensor as with the old setup for a "fully pressed" (suppressed voltage?) level.

As I said, more accurate and you don't have to get the magnet so close to the sensor (2-3mm) to get a "fully pressed" state. A weaker magnet and a less sensitive sensor will result in smaller min./max. distances and in more "jumpy" HiHat-pedal levels.

I think to get the range it is more important to get a bigger magnet (physically) than a "stronger" one. ie N45 is the grade of the magnet material and might suggest the surface field is stronger but not really an indicator of how far the field will extend / how fast it drops off.

N** describes the strength of the magnetic field in MGOe (see wikipedia)
the strength of the magnet in MGOe is what changes the max distance (see hall effect sensors data sheets)
take a strong magnet that can lift/hold around 100lbs but has only a N30 field and you will receive a lot smaller max distance.

Hi Guys,

I have to dig up this Thread as I only get 1,72 V between Tip and Sleeve with an A1302 sensor, when the Magnet is at maximum distance.
How do I raise the Voltage to 2,5 V ?
Also the Pedal Bar in the MDM Monitor isn´t moving.


I´m using the Pedal Settings that Kimouette posted earlier in this Thread.

With Alt In disabled and the High and Low settings adjusted I get the bar in MDM to move. But it´s inverted now, when the magnet is near the sensor the hh is open and when the magnet is far away from the sensor the hh is closed.

I'm having trouble the same trouble with this hi hat setup. It works with invert signal off; which of course means the signal is inverted (closed & open are reversed). But, when I select 'invert signal' it doesn't do anything (no output), although I can still get readings on the megadrum LCD that show the values changing when moving my pedal.
I should mention that 'invert signal' did work for a while (couple days ago), but now it doesn't and I don't know why.

I'd also like to add one more detail.. I can't trigger the Bell on the hi-hat. I believe it's because the hi hat pedal notes override the Hi Hat notes; not sure, but this is what appears to happen. For myself I just want the Pedal to send out the CC values, and trigger from the Hi-Hat pad settings. Do the Hi-Hat pad settings get ignored when the pedal is enabled?
