Postby Vi-N-cE » Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:25 pm

Hey @ all...

Maybe i'm too stupid...

but when i connect megadrum via USB with my Notebook...

-the display shows the VU-Meter after the the info-screen...

OK! So far so good...

-but my Notebook doesn't recognize megadrum?!?!?!

Do i need a (usb-)driver or something else?

I can't help you dialing in what might be wrong, but I'm also using Windows 7 and MegaDrum works fine with it so far.

Do other PCs recognise your MegaDrum?

Hi all...

First of all, thanks for your fast replys!

After 3-4 hours of testing and being desperate...
it finally WORKS!!!

The problem was that this kind of cross-connection behind the USB-Port
wasn't done correctly!

I updated the firmware successfully too...

so... i think it works fine!

Now i just have to test everything with my new Jobeky Drumset!

If you have the same problem as Vi-N-cE then you have the same cure and no need for a separate topic.
Meaning of the firmware files is in http://www.megadrum.info/content/programming-mcus

I don't know Vi-N-cE said that "The problem was that this kind of cross-connection behind the USB-Port wasn't done correctly!" what's the meaning. Thanks!

On your picture in another topic I see a 12MHz crystal clocking the PIC. You've used the wrong firmware file. Use the one that says pic18f2550usb_12MHz.hex.

Hi isque

The MegaDrum Modul was built & soldered by my mate & his collegue at work!
Unfortunately, they forgot to solder the "cross-connection" behind the USB-Port!
(look at the picture of my second post!)

After soldering it correctly, like shown in the picture, it worked immediately and my PC recognized MegaDrum!

I have a kit from Synthex, so don't know if you have this "cross-connection" ?!?!

Hope you can fix your issue(s)!!!

BTW:

Thanks dimitri & synthex for sharing this amazing project and for your continuous support!!!
Everything works fine now and i'm getting closer to the right settings...
Unfortunately my pads (Jobeky-Kit) are "too hot"!!!

Right now, i don't know exactly where i best place the POTIS ?!

It's like a never ending project...

;)
