Can't play simultaneously on two (or more pads) :/

Postby wegi » Sat Dec 25, 2010 11:12 am

Hi Guys,
After change to new atmega I can't play simultaneously on two or more pads anymore...
Let's say I play 16th notes on the left and 16th notes on the right tom. MD display shows everything ok (both bars indicates hit at the same time), however on my software (BFD2 and AD - I've tried both) only one pad is active (even if I hit both toms). I have no idea at all what to do now, I've checked every single setting (like xtalk etc.) - nothing helped. I didn't change anything on my PC or in the software config I just put new atmega 644 from Dmitri ...
I'm connecting MD through USB cable, Windows 7 32bit, sound card is a Maya 44 PCI and I got the latest firmware.

Please help...
Merry Christmas,
Dominic

Are you sure you've got the correct firmware? Also provide more details about your MD configuration. Is it DIY or built from a kit?

Affirm, firmware is ok, MD was built from the kit by a friend of mine.

Well, since your MegaDrum at least works this issue is very likely related to MD's settings. Start MegaDrum with the right key pressed, that should revert the settings to their default values.

Reset of settings to default or restoring the old settings was the first thing that I've done...

Have you attempted unplugging all the pads expect for 2 and testing at 16th notes?

You noted that you just got new atmega 644, did you try the old chip again?

Why the new chip, did you previously have the non-protected bootloader?

Are you running at 16MHz or 20MHz? Is the new chip the exact chip as the previously working chip?

Dynamic false triggering and XTalk suppression settings have changed in the latest firmware versions. Try to start with lowest values for XTalk, Rettrigger, DynLevel, DynTime. All pads should start triggering all over the places with multiple false triggering on every hit. After that you will need to adjust those settings to eliminate crosstalk/false triggering but with minimum effect on fast rolls and simultaneous on different pads/zones.
