Dual zone cymbals with choke

Hello everyone,
Please forgive my new guy questions. I'm trying to get everything planned out and make sure I understand it all before I begin building so I'm not in the forum all day every day asking for help to fix something that I've messed up.
I would like to build my cymbals with 2 zones and choke. I would like to follow this idea:
http://www.vdrums.com/forum/showthread. ... ll-w-choke
but I will make the choke switch more like this:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1548&p=18084&hilit=touch+cymbal#p18084
I'm just getting a little confused though (perhaps I am over thinking and maybe confusing myself) - the documentation page says:
Supports Dual Zone Piezo/Piezo pads.
Supports Dual Zone Piezo/Switch pads/cymbals.
Supports 3 zone Roland style cymbals (e.g. CY-12/CY-15).
Is the 2 zone cymbal that I have shown above a dual zone, or is it a 3 zone? if it is Dual zone, does the circuit shown fit the piezo/switch category to be supported? I'm a little confused between piezo/piezo and piezo/switch. piezo/piezo means both are analog? piezo/switch means one is analog, and the other is digital?
Is there a reason why megadrum supports piezo/piezo and piezo/switch pads, but only supports piezo/switch cymbals?
Apologies if this is plainly obvious - Am going through and reading as much as I can, but there is so much info to absorb and learn. Some of it is not quite sticking in my head properly, and none of my mates are really into electronics.
I intend to make all my drums (except kick) dual zone, and I think I have this worked out ok.
I plan on making the hi hat controller by following this idea:
http://www.vdrums.com/forum/showthread. ... ect+sensor
up until I found this that thread, I was having nightmares about making the hi hats work well.
Should I make the hi hat dual zone, or is it fine to leave it single zone? Does anyone have any recommendations either way? (I am not a drummer - not yet anyway!)
Now my only concern is making the Cymbals so they work correctly with the module, have 2 zones, are chokeable, and they are quiet enough when I play in my lounge room.
I'm picking up the shells this week, so I'll make a start, and upload some photos of my work in progress if anyone is interested.
Again, sorry if my questions are annoying, and thanking anyone in advance for response.
Dmitri - thank you very much for creating this project (and continuing to support it with your knowledge). I will order one of these kits from you in one fortnight.
