Recommended pads

Hi,

I am currently using megadrum with Roland Triggers fitted to a practice kit with mesh heads. Its Ok but could be better and I am spending too much time in search of perfect settings.

I am now looking to purchase some pads to replace the practice kit, please confirm the most suitable pads for Megadrum.

what are your specific goals. your initial request is kinda vague. i.e. more sensitivity, less x-talk, multiple zones...? and most triggers require some time searching for settings

Well the current kit is very hot and would need resistors I guess, right now I get loads of re-triggers whatever the setting which take ages to edit out after recording. I have tried loads of settings but nothing is just right you know.

But its also bulky and I would like to replace the drums with pro mesh head triggers.

So my question is which ones are best suited to Megadrum and set up easiest and best ? Yamaha ? Roland ? others ?

Which models have experienced users had most success with.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The easiest to configure pads are rubber pads like Yamha TP80S. Any mesh head will require some tuning both mechanical and in MegaDrum settings.
For me Roland PD125X, Drumtec 14" snare (with voltage divider), Pintech 10" snare all worked very well after some settings tuning.

Thanks Dimitri, I ordered a PD-125 today and if that works good I am going to replace the rest of my drums with similar pads.

Will I need to use resistors with that ?

Also could you let me know your succesful settings please.

I'm sorry, but I don't have PD-125 any more. It worked for me without a voltage dividers very well but as with all l mesh heads it varies from pad to pad even for the same make and depends on how tight the head is.

For the same reason perfect settings for one PD-125 may not work so well with another.
