Converting 32 inputs into 48 inputs Megadrum

Postby shdw » Tue Jun 21, 2011 10:20 pm

Hello,
Is it possible to convert already built 32 inputs version of Megadrum into 48 inputs one? (i want all 48 inputs to be simple pad channels, I don't need hi-hat control or kick inputs)
If yes what should I change/build? :)

Regards,
Kamil

It is possible. Add another Analogue board with only 2 MUXers (IC1 and IC2). It must use pins 5 and 6 of the P2 connector instead of pins 1 and 2.

Ok, thanks.
And what about changing inputs type of kick and hi-hat control?
If I want one double trigger input instead of those inputs what should I change?
I think I should just take pin 5 from P1 pad connector and solder it to tip of kick input and liquidate everything common with pin numbers 1 and 3 on P1. Am I right? :)

Pin 5 will became Aux8 tip, pin 4 - Aux8 ring, pin 6 - Aux9 tip, pin 2 - Aux9 ring and so on. Obviously pins 1 and 3 will not be used.

No, no, no, I'm talking about this http://www.megadrum.info/sites/default/ ... _kicad.png schematic.
I want to modificate first two inputs (kick, hhc) on my already build board ;)

You cannot use the HiHat pedal input as a regular pad input. Are you short of pads inputs?

I want to build electronic midi xylophone and I need 48 separate inputs, because I want to build 4 octaves (12 notes each).

Add 3rd MUXer to the second Analogue board and have 55 regular (pads) inputs.

I think I will just build 3 and 1/2 octave first, like most of xylophones used is orchestras :) (i will be able to change octaves pitch anyway using software ;))

Thanks for your help! :)

Hmm... am i right that I cannot build 48 inputs on Atmega32? There is no files for it in megadrum_20100516

Where can i find instruction how to upgrade firmware (lastest unencrypted one) with unsecured bootloader?
