It hasn't been connected yet as I'm still in laborious process of making cables (I bought wrong crimp terminals and must improvise). It's my first build with toner transfer method. It took couple of tries to determine right toner and paper, but in the end I have double sided DIY PCB's :) Also it's my first attempt with SMD's. So far it looks like, that they are easier to mount (no drilling, fast soldering).

As I don't need it yet, I have decided to decrease cost (about €15 for PIC here; that's about 30-40% of my MD) and wait until those cheap, taiwan interfaces will be available locally:)

Ok, but Megadrum can not be fed by your interface ;)

Actually, I can deliver power supply by my MIDI interface :-> (seen here, although without cables) It's a matter of moving Ra resistor after transmission cable (i.e. inside DIN plug). Possible problem is potential short circuit which will evidently cause fire (I have lerned that lesson many years ago, when I tried to convert Atari joystick to PC type and set potentiometer on fire:), because PC supply can deliver high current. Hence fuses in my circuits. I believe, one can bypass/move such resistor in commercial interface and accomplish the same.

I doubt that it even exceeds 1µH, because Cat5 wire isolation is pretty thick, but I do not worry for now;)
