Possible to send two megadrum outputs through one USB port?

I'm building two 56 channel megadrums that will be housed in one rack. I was planning on using two USB ports, but I'm curious if I had each megadrum set to a different channel, if the data could come out of one USB?

I don't know anything about USB bandwidth limitations or limitations of the PIC18f2550, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask...

You can chain two MegaDrums over the standard MIDI and use USB PIC of one of the two modules.

Both boards will be in one rack, so to be sure I understand correctly:

[*]Connect pin 2 of the first board CONN_5 to pin 5 of the second board CONN_5
[*]Connect pin 1 of the first board CONN_5 to pin 4 of the second board CONN_5
[*]Set Midi Thru on the second board
[*]Set each board to a different midi channel
[*]I'll then get the output of both boards through the USB output of the second board.

Correct?

Looks correct.

You don't have to change MIDI channels on either of the boards.
