Crosstrigging weird error

If I gently tap the crash cymbal I get crosstrigging on hihat channel. But not when I strike the cymbal, then it's normal.
This is what I get in midi-ox. First some gentle tapping on the crash and at the end 1 hard hit on the crash and a choke at the end.

I can't figure out why the hihat trigs on crash. It's not vibrations from the stand. I happens even when I hold the crash in my hand with no contact to anything else.

maybe some current flows to that channel inyour circuit. bad connection or something else..

Did some more testing and I found that it only occurs when the hihat pedal is fully open, and not when it's closed.
I don't think it's a bad connection. Maybe a bad pedal pot or pedal cable.

What MUXers do you have? Mine are 4051's and I cannot reproduce the issue but can guess where it comes from.
Can you add 100-470 Ohm resistor on the Pedal input? Does it fix the problem?

Also, I guess you don't see the issue after a strong hit because crosstalk suppression kicks in. I suspect if you disable crosstalk suppression on HiHat input (set it to 0) you'll get a signal after a strong hit as well.

You were right about the crosstalk settings.
I mounted a resistor on the hihat pedal input (220R) but it didn't make any difference.
But......
I got rid of the problem by setting the Roland CY5 edge to switch.
I can't understand why it behaved like that. Weird to say the least....

Thanx Dmitri. :)

What MUXers do you have? Can you try 1k resistor on the pedal input?

I have both types of Muxes. It's the same problem with both of them.
I'll try a 1k resistor.

Did you try it?

No, I will try it as soon as I get the time to do it. I've been quite busy. ;)

btw. I'm still having trouble finding the right settings for my pads. Too much double triggering. I've tried Admirs latest firmware on my Edrum ( also with dynamic threshold) and that works alot better for my pads.
I don't know which algoritm he used but he said something about mp3 compression inspired him. A strong hit masking a weak.

Can you make some experimental firmwares for me to try and see which one works best? I'm using Atmega644 now
Great work so far :)
