What can you do if a PAD is too cold?

Postby angr77 » Sun Dec 02, 2012 3:39 pm

and you want to gain that PAD a bit. (a with a resistor etc.)

Most posts on this forum do speak about when the PADs are too hot, where you can use a resistor in line with piezo too cool it off.

Best Regards

Why do you think a pad is "too cold"?

If a pad generates a highlevel value on 300....i have red that the optimal highlevel would be about 850...then i started to think if there was a way to increase it.

Thats why asking...

If the difference between the HighLevel and Threshold greater than 256 than MegaDrum gets all the pads dynamics. E.g. Yamaha PCY-135 is like that, i.e. it is quite "cool" but it still produce full dynamic range.

Thanks Dmitri.
Aha,

So the "too cold" does not really exist as a problem because it be corrected in MD?

It can be too "cool" if (HighLevel-Threshold) is considerably less then 256 even with the Gain 8 but this would indicate something wrong with a pad and I have not seen such pads.
