Custom Names

Postby airflamesred » Thu Jul 04, 2013 11:53 am

I've noticed the 'custom names' box is not ticked, in MDM. Looking at the .mds file it is showing as true. No big deal as all my custom names are showing up.
I also noticed that (in notepad) dyn level is 2 whilst MDM is displaying 4. This may be the way you have coded this, as notepad is showing channel 5 whilst MDM is displaying ch 6 and is indeed playing ch 6.
None of this is an issue, just thought I'd mention it.

I have seen this also. You need to check the box before do save/send to the MD....otherwise the names are gone...

The names are working - no issues with that.
The only thing that is confusing me is that the tick box under the misc setting stays unchecked even though the .mds file states 'true'. Saved on many occasions.

Yes, the names work if you read it from a mds file...but if you load the mds file and store the setup to your MD with the custom names unchecked...the names will not be saved to MD.
(you will still see and think they are stored in the MD when you continue to work in MDM.

Then perhaps you do alot of tweaks on the pads that you want to keep...and save it to the MD...

Next time (a week later..) you try to load the complete setup from the MD...Into MDM...the names are not there...and you need to manually merge them into the setup. (time..)

So you need to be abit observant and look for the custom names checkbox every time...if using the custom names...

OK maybe I'm missing something Anders.
I open MDM - (not connected to MD) and that must be reading the mds file. The custom name box is not ticked. I load the .mds file - still not ticked. I open the .mds file in notepad and it sais custom names = true.

It was a bug in MDM. I just published a new MDM version with the "Custom Names" setting fixed.
