GEN16 HIHAT integration

Hello everyone, i'm a new megadrum user (currently using with DIY set with quartz harness triggers and roland mesh heads, and superior drummer software). I have done some searching but have not been able to find my specific answer....Can I use the Gen16 hihat with megadrum and if so, would it trigger through superior drummer? Would I just plug one input in to the hihat input instead of hihat input/pedal input?

Also, I am getting random "harsh" (really loud) hits from my pads while playing, any tips?

Thank you all for any help in advance!

As far as I can judge from Goggle, Gen16 are HiHat cymbals without actual HiHat controller so plug them in into HiHat cymbal input. If they are single zone then configure just the Bow input. If they are dual or triple zone, the configuration will depend on if they are piezo/piezo, piezo/switch or piezo/switch/switch type.

One problem at a time. Create a new topic with description of the problem and include as much relevant details as possible.

Further googling revealed that Gen16 are not trigger type but rather are acoustic type with built-in microphone to be used with a DCP (Digital Cymbal Processor) made by Zildjian itself or similar device, e.g. a mic input on of a sound card.

That's right! In my opinion the Gen 16 cymbals from Zildjian it's self are the last big innovation on e-drums. BUT not with this fuc..... bullshit and horribly built-in microphone DCP system! It's sounding so primitive! Are we back to the 80th like simple Casio drum-synths? Can't believe this. And this stuff is very expensive! NO WAY!

I wrote to Zildjian and ask them for a possibility to buy those smoothly playable, silent and well looking metal Gen 16 cymbals poorly without any built-in microphones and DCP system for a appropriable price. But unfortunately they do not sell this option.

The goal in this case shout be: To use this silent and authentic metal cymbals with a optional triggering system, one controller for the Hihat all optimized for MegaDrum converter to control High end libraries like SD from Toontrack. It should be a long way to do this and probably this is just a dream. I hate so much those ugly plastic cymbal pads from ROLAND and co (Tock - Tock - Tock noises) but where is the solution? I'm waiting for this!

Greats

I totally agree trommeltotti regarding the Zildjian approach...useless for an e-drummer. They should have added a midi interface to GEN-16. FYI...I saw last week in the US that Guitar Center sold the starter pack of GEN-16 for $399 (crash, ride and hihat + the bullshit box) so the price have at least been lowered.
