Feature request

I believe this has been discussed before but I really think this may be useful for many set ups.

Split note: A second, alternate, midi note triggered at higher velocity. This potentially doubles the size of your kit. For single piezo, on the snare for example, the rim shot sample could be assigned. On a cymbal a bell sound could be assigned or a crash perhaps on a ride cymbal. The practical options are endless.

As discussed before this can be done in your VST but its not that straight forward. It means taking samples and moving zones and with a lot of library's there are scripts attached which get lost in the move.

I can't see this being a big issue from development but it will need some support here. So, if you think this may be of use to you please comment below.

Isn't it what was discussed here?

I think the conclusion was that it could be done, but that it would have to be the last enhancement for atmega644-based modules because there would be no more space left in them.

Concerning this issue about limited space, Dmitri, what do you think about this: a firmware repository is created, where one-off 'branches' are available. These versions have a new feature, but stay as they are without further upgrades and are not necessarily compatible with MDM - the price you pay for enjoying a certain feature. Then there could be the 'main' firmware which continues like up until now. Considering the performance is very polished (a friend of mine still uses the last unencrypted firmware and is very happy with it), I don't think I'd mind sticking to a 'branch' unless there is a major breakthrough in the 'main' firmware.

If more people think that this functionality is better done in firmware rather than in VST then I'll think about implementing it.
