Dual hi hat. New feature possible?

Hi all,
I am going through the process of building a 56 input version of the ARM based megadrum. I am wondering if anyone has tried or been successful setting up a dual hi hat setup (I would like to have two hi-hats). If it has not been tried, does anyone have any suggestions? I know at the minimum, a second set of inputs will have to be wired up the same as the existing system is. That would be the easy part. Dmitri, would the software support this? I know what I am doing is overkill, but I want something that Roland can't provide. I feel this would set the Megadrum module even further ahead of the existing product offerings.
Thanks

To My knowledge I don't think the MD supports two hi hats. (We are talking about 2 independent hi hat pedals? If not...you can have several hi hat pads...but you can only control one selected pad with with the pedal through cc:04)
We had a hardware development discussion about this a couple of years ago but I think it did not generate any bigger interest. So it was dropped )
One thing which could be done through software is to open up for so several pads can be cc controled from one hi hat pedal. Dmitri ?

If you use CC4 for pedal positions then you can configure two (or more) HiHat cymbals with identical notes and they will be treated as one HiHat cymbal by soft synth so it should work.

You'll get conflictimg cc data

Why? As far as I can see it will act as just one HiHat cymbal but separated some distance with one HiHat pedal.

Hi all,
I would like to use two hi hat controllers (Two hi hat stands, one controller on each with the associated hi-hat)
I am seeing now that this probably won't work since the two controllers will be sending info
to the same CC. I am thinking the second hi-hat will have to be hooked up to a different unit and
have it information sent to the megadrum module thru the MIDI IN port. Is this a correct assessment?
Thanks

I believe you can do this. You will have to use different CC messages for each pedal/cymbal combination.

So, this is one pedal under each foot? And two different hi hat sounds. I'm struggling to understand how this is to play.

Hi Again.
The next challenge is the VSTs. Most softwares don't accept two separate hi-hats. But you could use two VSTs on different midi channels like 10 and 11 (and two MegaDrum devices as you propose above).
In Addictive Drums 2 you have actually a secondary hi-hat pedal controller which could be used in a dual hi-hat implementation. Default it responds to cc:01. I am guessing it will triggers the same sounds...but will jump between the cc: data and create sounds after this.

What would happen if you used a splitter to plug 2 hi hat controller pedals into the module's input? If you could calibrate the MD module to give you a full open/closed range with both of them, you could just open 2 instances of whatever VST you're using, one of them with just the hi hat loaded, with a different midi note for the 2nd hi hat cymbal. Chicks and foot splashes might conflict though, you'd have to cancel them for one hi hat. At least in AD, I don't necessarily have to tell the module which input I'm using for the hi hat cymbal - if I map a crash to the hi hat note it turns into a hi hat.
