Backup Hardware Sample Player for Megadrum

Hello,
I am currently using SD2 to get drum sounds out of the midi signals from my megadrum module.
But I don't want to rely completly on my computer. I want to have a backup.
At least for those special occasions you take your set to a jam session to have something if your computer breaks.
Good sounding normal drum modules are really expensive. And I don't need the Trigger2Midi that is build in.
Because megadrum is doing that.
My question is:
Have you any experiance with a hardware sample player to use it with the megadrum module?
What about drumcomputers like Alesis SR16 or SR18 or Zoom RT-223?
Is the higher price of the SR18 worth the sound quality compared to SR16?
Greetings
